Another self proclaimed 'teacher' who we discovered later used a totally false name when joining us, was invited into our group to do research for a while. He informed us that he had made it his mission to discover the 'true & original Okinawan Shorin ryu" and that Mushindo was the only place that gave him access to original sources etc.
After a few months study aided by the documents in our research library he realised - but did not acknowledge to himself - that his life long mission was doomed. There was no original Okinawan Shorin ryu as it had all come from China - a thing Shifu Nagaboshi had informed him early on in his research.
Instead of accommodating and growing from such discoveries he was unable to adapt to them and convinced himself that somehow he could not be wrong but instead had been tricked. Even though his research had been conducted by himself alone, in his mind what he actually discovered had to be negated somehow, as it nullified his self appointed reason for training (and of course -teaching others).
Sadly he left our group, his dojo broke up and the last we heard of his was that he was involved with the 'straying sensei' mentioned previously in 'awarding' a 'black belt' to another of our dojo dropouts.
